Loco 1.6 is Released, and Slack will never be the Same

LOCO Innovations Releases Loco v1.6, Featuring New Slack Functionality and Rules Upgrades to No-Code App Development Platform

EVANSTON, IL (March 31, 2019) – LOCO Innovations, LLC today announced the release of Loco v1.6, which offers significant updates to Loco’s existing Slack integrations, improving the experience for users building apps designed to run through their Slack interface. Loco v1.6 also includes several other new features and upgrades to the platform, including new rules capabilities and other technical improvements.

The major features introduced with the release are rules that are trigger-able, either by a specific type of card change, by a user-defined Slack command, or on a predetermined schedule (hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly). Rules can also customize Slack to include user-defined buttons that invoke Loco rules when clicked. These improvements create a full programming environment deeply embedded in the Slack user experience.

In addition, scheduled rules can now run every night and generate summary reports, or notify users of their workflow items for the following day.

“We built Loco so that anyone can easily create apps for their business or enterprise, and we are continuing to add features that make this product more valuable for organizations of all sizes,” said Doug Wilson, product manager at LOCO Innovations, LLC. “By allowing users to build apps that can either stand alone or run through the Slack interface, we’re providing new, never-before-seen ways to enhance Slack’s collaborative potential.”

“Loco users can build apps to place, triage, manage, and track IT, service, or maintenance requests; directories to locate information on employees or clients; sales pipelines; scheduling systems for rooms or equipment; surveys to gather lunch orders, or games like trivia or black jack,” Wilson continued. “They can access or interact with these apps through the same Slack interface they already know and use daily. The options are only limited by the user’s imagination.”

The Slack integration was announced in October alongside the Loco App in Slack’s App Directory. The Slack integration gives dynamic new functionality to the eight million people who currently use Slack on a daily basis.

Other features in Loco v1.6 include the ability for User and Related Deck properties to be labels, and the ability for decks to be classified as secondary, which hides them from most views for non-Admins.

The previous release, Loco v1.5, gave users the ability to generate and format custom reports using standard word processing features using Google Docs. Other updates in previous versions allowed users to create “Visual Rules” using a visual puzzle-piece drag-and-drop mechanism, which can, among other things, notify users via text, email, or Slack when data is created, modified, or deleted.

Loco was launched earlier in 2018 to empower every person to become a citizen developer, building their own applications with no software development or coding knowledge necessary. Loco is the easiest way on the planet to create databases, either from scratch or directly from the library of pre-built apps.

Loco is available at https://loco.build/ and the Slack app is available at https://slack.com/apps/ACPPEJBB9-loco.

About Loco

Organizations today have more data than ever to manage, compile, track, aggregate, sort, collate, and tabulate. In the past, citizens who needed a custom app solution to achieve these tasks were forced to hire developers to build it, even though the problem they were looking to solve only required a simple digital solution. Loco gives these citizen developers the power to take app development into their own hands, building and customizing apps to their own specifications.

Loco is completely customizable, allowing users to build the app they need to solve the problem they have. Apps can be designed within minutes from any device without any formal programming training, then deployed to the cloud in seconds and made available to teams immediately. Basic usage plans for Loco start at $100 per month, with a cost of $400 per month for unlimited usage.

Because Loco is completely customizable, the apps that can be developed are restricted only by the user’s imagination. Since the user invents the data and the structure, there are no limits to the types of apps that they can construct. Each app is available to team members of the user’s choosing, or can be designed for private use.
